This is the best tv I have bought yet. I actually think the remote control is superior to the one that came with our other tv, and I don't notice the time lag in changing channels being much different from the Samsung. I have not yet used the DVD player (other than testing to make sure it works), but I predict I will use it a lot when I am staying in our family room. I was pleased to be able to purchase a name-brand TV at a fair price, and I would definitely recommend the Toshiba to anyone who is looking for a small, easy-to-relocate television. I purchased this small Toshiba TV to replace the old one in our family room. I had also been considering buying a small TV for our den. This is the perfect size for both locations. So far, I have only used it in the bed room, but it fits well on the counter and I am very pleased with the picture and sound quality.

We bought this to fit in our camper. It fits really well on the shelf in front of the sofa. The sound is great. The picture is beautiful. It makes watching DVD's easy. We use the box it came in to transport it back and forth from home to the camper. We Love It.
Great choice to replace a kitchen counter TV July 8, 2010

We were looking to replace a 13" CRT TV. Other units we looked at: Toshiba 15DLV77 but did not like the 4:3 aspect ratio, Westinghouse 15.6" had bad sound reviews, the Coby and Viewsonic 15" had a limited viewing angles. This Toshiba specs a 170 deg viewing angle, which it delivers, and that is not to be underestimated for a kitchen TV. The colors are true even at an extreme viewing angle and this is a great plus for watching while moving around the kitchen. The sound is perfectly adequate for regular kitchen ambient noise except if you intend to listen to it while running a machine such as blender or mixer.
There was a lot of bad review on channel changing delay. Here's what we found: if you hit the up or down arrow once it takes 2 seconds for the next channel to come in. If you hit the arrow several times (say 3 times to go from 4 to 7) it still takes 2 seconds after completion of the 3 hits for the new channel to come in. If you key in a direct channel (say 21) and hit the enter key, it takes about 1.5 seconds after hitting the enter key for the channel to come in. The only time it takes a full 6 seconds for a channel to come in is if you key in a number without hitting enter, then the TV is waiting 4 seconds or so for you to enter in more numbers before it finally gives up and changes the channel. This has not been a problem once you remember to hit enter.

Overall I really like the TV. The dvd player works well and has a nice picture and this Tv is perfect for my particular usage in a small home office. My only complaint about the set is the sound certainly is not the best and many times you are turning the sound almost to max to hear it. It is okay in the room, but I would not recommend it for any use other than where you are sitting fairly close to the tv.
